Leon DesRoches, CEO of Smartpods
Leon is the President and inventor of Smartpods technologies as well as President of Sparx Wellness Institute. He holds a Physiotherapy degree from University of Dalhousie 2003, Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from UdeM in 2000 and certificate in Architecture from Université de Laval 1997. He began his Doctorate in the Science of Physiotherapy (DScPT) from Andrews University in 2008 in Michigan US. In 2005, he opened the first multi-disciplinary rehabilitation clinic in Moncton and sold it in 2009. In 2009 he opened Sparx Wellness Institute, where he managed 14 employees. In 2011, Sparx Wellness Institute received the award for emerging business in Dieppe.
Leon’s entire way of living revolves around the importance of human movement. He has spent his career educating and motivating people – young and old, from grade school to the workforce – on the importance of moving. It is not only a philosophy it’s a way of life that can be seen in his employees, colleagues and most importantly in his own family.
Timothy Fogarty, VP of Product Development
His background and experience in IT, automation and cost reduction are all significantly important in our business development. From 2004-2008 he was a Senior Software/Controls Engineer Designer and in 2008 he became a director of MotionFab which was acquired by Apex Industries in 2012. His education background in Computer Operation and Management from University College of the Cariboo, Kamloops BC from 1996-1998. He also has other credentials such as Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD.Net) and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP in Web Applications.Net).
His experience and knowledge in IT is a crucial component in our development in order to move towards the vision of our company. His role is to ensure proper software development which will eventually allow a seamless communication between Smartpods and the end user.
Eric Mallais, User Interface Specialist
Eric graduated with honors and distinction at The Gaming and Animation Institute of Fredericton 2011. He worked 3 years at Gogii Games as a 2D, 3D, Video/Audio SFX, digital painting, game design and marketing artist.
He believes in the Smartpods product: Who would say no to helping those in need of a better healthier life? He brings to Smartpods creativity and focus to make the Smartpods experience innovative, easy to use and fun. As a graphic artist, computers have kept him sitting for a long time, and that can be quite tiresome during a long stretch of hours. Smartpods offers not only a great product, but its true benefits allow it to monitor your health and well being. He hopes that people appreciate the over all goal of this product and can’t see why Smartpods wouldn’t be used globally within the next 5 years.
Mary Helen MacDonald, Director of Operations
Mary Helen McDonald is the owner of MH Ops, an operations consulting company. She has spent the last twenty years working for start up companies as well as large international corporations. With her MBA and certification as a professional purchaser through PMAC, she brings years of experience in operations, supplier relations and cost reduction strategy.
Smartpods brings a combination of technology and health benefits like never seen before. It is both innovative and exciting. Mary Helen is eager to be on the leading edge of such an inspirational product.
